If you can’t reach some websites, try these steps:
- Connect to a different VPN server location. Some website may restrict access from certain locations.
- Try a different VPN protocol, available in app settings on iOS and Android. To learn more about selecting a protocol, see the “Which protocol should I choose?” FAQ.
- Clear the cache of your browser while connected to the VPN.
- Check your antivirus and firewall settings are not blocking the website or the VPN. Add exceptions for the VPN to your browser.
- If you have recently installed MySudo VPN, try restarting your device.
If you’re using Google services while connected to MySudo VPN, you might sometimes receive an error message announcing a lockout of the site you’re trying to reach, in words such as:
“We’re sorry, but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can’t process your request right now” or “Our system has detected unusual traffic from your computer network.”
The error message will also typically display a reCAPTCHA.
This error occurs when Google detects unusually high traffic levels from the same IP address and suspects automated connections (e.g. from bots) attempting to subvert its security.
The lockout from the site you’re trying to reach usually lasts around 12 hours.
4 things you can do to fix it
1. Try using the MySudo browser with DuckDuckGo as the default search engine.
2. This error message is expected behaviour on a VPN where many users are sharing IP space. Google Support explains it here: “Unusual traffic from your computer network.”
3. Google recommends solving the reCAPTCHA to prove you’re human and not a robot. Google says the error should then go away and normal services will resume.
4. If the problem continues, we recommend that you reconnect to the server to receive a new IP address, or try a different server.
