Anonyome Labs/MySudo does not inspect your communications that pass through our service…however it is out of our control once those communications leave our boundary and traverse the public telecommunications network. The only way to guarantee zero inspection is for users to be messaging MySudo to MySudo; which is fully E2E encrypted and cannot be inspected by anybody, even us.
To protect recipients, Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (further C.T.I.A.) has created a list of prohibited content that shouldn't be included in any SMS — Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco or S.H.A.F.T.
Telecommunications carriers have recently enforced more strict rules around their S.H.A.F.T. policy and we've found users are seeing an increase in SMS texts being blocked by downstream carriers due to texts containing profanity or swear words.
The quick fix is to keep all your communications end-to-end encrypted between MySudo users.
Since SMS is sent in plain text, it’s unavoidable that carriers will inspect it and potentially block it. But end-to-end encrypted messages can’t be inspected or blocked—so the solution is to keep all your communications end-to-end encrypted. To do that, simply invite all your contacts to MySudo and chat Sudo-to-Sudo via the app’s encrypted messaging, calling and email instead of standard.
(An additional workaround we have found is if you misspell the word either with an extra letter or special character 😬)
If sending an SMS we suggest refraining from using profanity and your SMS should reach its destination without issue.
