How to complete verification for a UK local phone number

If your number has a prefix of +441, +442, +4433, you are required to go through a one-time manual verification process in order to keep your local UK number.

Why the Change?

Due to stricter UK Telecommunication Industry regulations enforced by our Telephony provider for UK phone numbers, we are required to implement an identity verification process for users who wish to obtain or retain UK local phone numbers. This step is essential to help protect against fraud and ensure compliance with these enforced UK telecommunication regulations.

What You Need to Do

To keep your current UK local phone number, you’ll need to provide the following information to our support team via support@mysudo.com by September 20, 2024, in order to be verified before the September 30, 2024 cut off date:

• First and last name

• UK address

• Date of birth

• Email address

• Non-MySudo phone number

• Government-issued ID (like a driver’s license)

Given that your number is classified as a local number (+441, +442, +4433 prefixes), you’ll also be required to provide one of the following as proof of a valid United Kingdom address:

• Government-issued ID showing local address

• Utility bill

• Tax notice

• Rent receipt

• Title deed

Please ensure that the information you provide is accurate and belongs to you.

Verify only Once

You only need to go through this process successfully once. Once verified, you won’t need to repeat it for future UK phone numbers.

Your Info is Safe

The personal information you provide will be retained by our telephony service provider for your time using MySudo, plus an additional 30 days following the processing of your MySudo account deletion request.  Personal information handled by the MySudo team will be removed from our systems as soon as the verification process is completed.

Prefer Not to Verify?

No problem! If you’d rather not go through the verification process, you can easily delete your UK phone number and just obtain a US or Canadian phone number without needing to provide any additional information.

Don’t have a valid UK address?

If you do not have a valid UK address, you can delete your UK local number and add a UK mobile number (+447 prefix) to your MySudo account. When obtaining a new UK mobile number in MySudo, you will still be required to verify your identity via the in-app automated guided process.  However, you will not be required to provide proof of a UK address as it is not required by our telephony provider to obtain or hold a UK mobile number.
