In many cases, Anonyome is not able to trace a Sudo email address back to a person’s legal identity because that information is not required during registration and initial on-boarding.
Some MySudo capabilities, such as virtual cards, have a regulatory requirement that a user’s legal identity must be verified before they can use those capabilities. We only ask you to provide your legal identity information if you choose to use those capabilities. In these cases, Anonyome is able to associate your Sudo email address with your legal identity.
Within the data retention period (24 hours), a law enforcement official who obtains the IP addresses related to use of a Sudo account may be able to trace those IP addresses back to a legal identity, via a subpoena to a telecommunications provider or app store provider.
*A legal identity is typically a set of attributes assigned by a central authority to acknowledge, record, and validate a human being’s existence within a given social context. In the United States, examples of this would be a birth certificate, social security number, driver’s license or passport.
