So you can see who in your device contacts list is also using MySudo and has chosen to be discoverable, you need to grant the app access to your device contacts, just as you would to display and use your device contacts in MySudo. Your contacts' telephone numbers (and not their name or other non-telephony data) are cryptographically hashed using SHA 512 algorithm. The hashed contact phone number data is periodically searched by the Sudo Platform for matches, but no user device contacts are stored in the Sudo Platform at any point in the process. The hashed contact phone number data is not retained in the Sudo Platform after the matching is complete.
On the flipside, so other MySudo users can match with you based on them already having your device telephone number in their device contacts, you can choose to share this number with us. The device phone will receive one or more SMS messages in order to establish that the requesting user is in control of that phone number, after which the plaintext version of the phone number is SHA 512 hashed and stored in this form for the sole purpose of matching. We only use this hashed data for the purpose of private contact matching.
On opting out of private contact matching, all data you provided for the purpose of matching is removed from the Sudo Platform.
