Transferring payment subscription from one Apple ID to a different Apple ID

Four years ago, a Team Sudo member responded to a similar question with... 

However once you have transferred your account to the new device you will want to do the following:

• Cancel your MySudo subscription on your old Apple Id
• Wait until the cancelled subscription expires on your new device & purchase a new MySudo subscription on the new device/Apple id.

My question is:

1. Is this process still applicable today?
2. How long should we wait after the subscription expires to make the purchase on the new device?
3. If we do this, we will still maintain our phone numbers?

  1. Yes, the process remains the same.
  2. You can subscribe under the new Apple ID immediately after your subscription expires.
  3. Yes, you will maintain all of your phone numbers as long as you reactivate your subscription within the grace period (currently 25 days).
