Private contact matching allows you to see which of your device contacts are also using MySudo and have chosen to be discoverable. To enable this, you must grant MySudo access to your device contacts—just as you would to view or use them within the app.
How your contacts are protected:
Only telephone numbers (not names or other personal data) are used.
Numbers are cryptographically hashed using SHA-512 before being protected.
Hashed data is searched by the Sudo Platform for matches, but device contacts are never stored in the Sudo Platform.
Hashed contact data is not retained after matching is complete.
How others can match with you:
You can choose to share your device phone number to allow others to find you.
To verify control of the number, the device may receive one or more SMS messages.
The plaintext number is then hashed (SHA-512) and used solely for matching purposes.
Important Privacy Notes:
Only people who already have your number in their device contacts can discover you
Private Contact Matching is disabled by default
On opting out, all hashed data for matching is removed from the platform
