Can I be tracked if I’m using a MySudo product?

MySudo email and phone number:

In many cases, Anonyome Labs cannot trace a Sudo email address or phone number back to a person’s legal identity because that information is not required during registration and initial onboarding.

Some MySudo capabilities, such as virtual cards and telephone numbers in a limited number of countries, have a regulatory requirement that a user’s legal identity must be verified before they can use those capabilities. We only ask you to provide your legal identity information if you choose to use those capabilities. In these cases, Anonyome Labs can associate your Sudo email address with your legal identity. 

Within the data retention period (24 hours), a law enforcement official who obtains the IP addresses related to use of a Sudo account may be able to trace those IP addresses back to a legal identity, via a subpoena to a telecommunications provider or app store provider.

*A legal identity is typically a set of attributes assigned by a central authority to acknowledge, record, and validate a human being’s existence within a given social context. In the United States, examples of this would be a birth certificate, social security number, driver’s license or passport.

MySudo VPN:

Using a VPN provides an extra layer of privacy and security for your internet traffic but it does not protect against all types of tracking.

For example, advertisers such as Facebook and Google can still potentially track your activity across websites using tracking technologies like cookies. Websites to which you enter data can still use that data for tracking purposes. Bad actors can still use malware, such as key loggers, spyware, etc., to track your activity and gain access to your personal data.
