MySudo VPN makes it simple to protect your online activity with just a few taps. This article explains how to set up a connection, monitor it, and manage it across different devices and conditions.
Connecting to MySudo VPN
Open the MySudo VPN app.
Tap the power icon in the middle of the main screen to connect.
Tap the icon again to disconnect.
Tip: To select a specific server, tap Selected Location on the main screen. This will show a list of available VPN servers with connection speed indicators so you can choose the best option.
Checking Your VPN Connection
Connected: You’ll see “Connected” and an active power icon in the app.
Android: A persistent notification appears in the notification drawer, and a VPN icon displays in the system status bar.
iOS: A VPN icon appears in the Control Center toolbar (swipe down from the top-left corner).
Disconnected: You’ll see “Disconnected” and an inactive/disabled power icon.
How Long Your VPN Stays Connected
MySudo VPN does not impose a time limit on your connection.
Connection reliability may be affected by:
Device power management (your OS may pause idle connections).
Network changes (switching from Wi-Fi to cellular, or poor/intermittent connections).
Enabling “On Demand” (iOS) or “Always-on” (Android) can help maintain your connection and automatically reconnect if it drops.
Keeping Your VPN Active in the Background
To maintain a VPN connection even when the app is closed or the device restarts:
iOS: Enable On Demand in the app or device VPN settings.
Android: Enable Always-on in the app or device VPN settings.
Without these settings, the operating system may pause the VPN in the background, or it may not reconnect automatically when the device restarts.
Using MySudo VPN with Other VPNs
If another VPN is already installed on your device, MySudo VPN will temporarily take priority while connected.
On devices that support On Demand or Always-on, the OS may attempt to reconnect the other VPN if it is designated as On Demand/Always-on. You can choose which VPN to use in your device’s VPN settings.
