If you have multiple password managers or autofill services enabled on your device or browser, they may compete with MySudo Password when saving or filling passwords.
For the best experience, check that MySudo Password is enabled as your preferred password manager/autofill provider and that other password managers or browser settings aren't also attempting to save or fill your passwords.
| What you're seeing | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| MySudo Password doesn't appear | Another autofill provider is active | OS autofill/password settings |
| Multiple password suggestions appear | Multiple managers are enabled | Disable competing providers |
| Browser keeps asking to save passwords | Browser password manager is enabled | Browser password settings |
| Another manager fills passwords first | Its extension/autofill is active | Disable its extension/autofill |
| MySudo extension doesn't fill passwords | Extension conflict or site compatibility | Other extensions + site behavior |
| Old/wrong password is filled | Another manager has the credential | Identify which provider supplied it |
Check your Autofill and password settings
If MySudo Password isn't appearing when you expect it to, another password manager, browser, or device setting may be handling your passwords instead.
Check the following:
On iPhone or iPad
- Make sure MySudo Password is enabled as a Password AutoFill provider in your device settings.
- If Apple Passwords or another password manager is also enabled, it may appear as an additional autofill option.
On Android
- Make sure MySudo Password is selected as your preferred Autofill service.
- If Google Password Manager or another password manager is enabled, it may also offer to fill your passwords.
In your web browser
- Check whether the browser's built-in password manager is saving or filling passwords.
- If you're using another password manager's browser extension, it may also try to fill or save passwords.
Check for other password manager extensions
If you have multiple password manager extensions installed in the same browser, they may compete with the MySudo Password extension.
If you want MySudo Password to handle your passwords in that browser, consider disabling the other password manager extensions or their autofill features.
If you're seeing multiple password prompts
Your browser, operating system, and password manager may each offer to save or fill the same password. This can result in multiple suggestions or unexpected passwords being filled.
If you want MySudo Password to be your primary password manager, disable password saving or autofill in the other services you're not using.
If the problem continues
If MySudo Password is configured correctly but passwords still aren't being saved or filled:
→ Make sure the MySudo Password app and browser extension are up to date.
→ Restart your browser or device.
→ Check that another password manager or browser extension isn't handling autofill.
→ If the issue occurs only on a specific website, the website may not support standard password autofill behavior.
