When a VPN connection is established through the VPN app, the device’s IP address should reflect the VPN server location the device is connected to. To verify this location, visit an IP geolocation website such as whatsismyipaddress.com.
If an IP geolocation website displays a location different from what you are currently connected to, there are two possibilities:
-
You may be connected via a different VPN app. Although devices typically only allow a single VPN connection at a time, it is possible you have inadvertently connected via a different VPN app. Check your device’s network settings to see which VPN is active.
-
The IP geolocation website may be using an imprecise or outdated IP lookup database. If this is the case, the website may simply be incorrectly reporting your location.
