It’s vital that you back up your MySudo Password account and also ensure Screen lock protection is enabled so you can restore it if you lose, damage, or replace your device. MySudo Password uses security keys stored only on your device, so those must be transferred or backed up.
You have two options:
Import/Export via QR Code
Use the QR method to securely transfer your MySudo Password account.
On your new device:
Install MySudo Password → tap I already use a MySudo Product
-
Import Existing Sudo Info → a QR code will appear — set brightness to max so it scans correctly.
On your original device:
Make sure you are running the latest MySudo Password version.
Open Password Settings → tap Backup & Import/Export → tap Export to Another Device
Scan the QR code shown on your new device.
Your security keys are transferred via the QR code, giving your new device access to your existing MySudo Password account. Both devices will now access the same account.
Google Backup + Screen lock protection
In the MySudo Password app:
Tap Settings
Tap Backup & Import/Export → Account Backup → Google account backup
Ensure both the Google account backup and Screen lock protection are set to On
⚠️ Both settings must be enabled for a backup to be successful and your account to be recoverable.
Important
MySudo Password relies on security keys stored on your device to access your account. You must transfer these keys via QR code or encrypted Google Drive backup + Screen lock protection.
One of the two options unlocks your security keys and allows MySudo Password to import your data.
We do not store your security keys and cannot help recover it. Keep it safe.
If you skip restore, MySudo Password will create a new account on your device.
