MySudo Messaging Limits and Usage

Sudo-to-Sudo Messaging

• No limit.

• Messages between MySudo users are always unlimited and do not count against your monthly allotment. 
   

Sudo-to-NonSudo Messaging (SMS)

Monthly message allotments by plan:

• SudoGo: 100 messages
• SudoPro: 300 messages
• SudoMax: Unlimited messaging

Both incoming and outgoing SMS messages count toward your monthly allotment.

SMS message usage is calculated as follows:

• 160 characters or less = 1 message
• 161+ characters = split into multiple 153-character segments (each counts as a separate message)

• Example: A 161-character text sends as 2 messages (153 + 8 characters).
   

Special Characters & Emojis

• Using emojis or non-GSM characters (e.g., some international characters) lowers the limit to 67 characters per segment.

• Each 67-character segment counts as a separate message.

Voice Memos
Sending to nonMySudo contacts is coming soon! Voice memos are supported in MySudo messaging conversations between MySudo users and non-MySudo users, with availability depending on the type of conversation and the Sudo number being used.

* Sudo-to-NonSudo: Voice memos can be received but cannot be sent - coming soon! 
* Sudo-to-Sudo: Voice memos can be sent and received by any MySudo user.

Note: Outgoing voice memos are limited to 4 minutes in length.

 

Message Reactions

• Emoji reactions (such as 👍 ❤️ 😂) will appear attached to the original message for the recipient rather than a separate text message. 

  • Custom stickers cannot be used as message reactions and will not be displayed as a reaction on the recipient's message.

• Reactions sent to non-MySudo users use a message entitlement.

  • In group conversations, reactions are sent to each participant individually and may use multiple message entitlements. 

  • Reactions between MySudo users do not count against your monthly allotment.
     

iOS Smart Punctuation Tip

• Smart punctuation can turn quotes/apostrophes into non-GSM characters, triggering the 67-character limit.

• To prevent this:

  1. Go to Settings → General → Keyboard.

  2. Toggle off Smart Punctuation.
